It’s summer in Europe, and school holiday season in many parts of the world. In this session, you’re invited to come along with a real, unresolved challenge related to using futures and foresight in your facilitation, or facilitating futures methods in your work context, or strategic direction.
We’ll hear the challenges, and have a chance to apply our experience to identifying how to address or avoid similar situations in the future. This is great for both the presenter of the challenge AND the rest of us.
Useful for:
This session will be useful for facilitators who want to practice applying futures thinking to messy, real-world situations, and to observe how sensemaking can be supported without turning into advice-giving or coaching.
What’s the point of this SIG?
The Facilitating Futures & Foresight SIG focuses on helping facilitators help others make sense of change, identity, and choice, using futures and facilitation approaches.
Sessions are designed as “learning-by-doing” and “learning-by-sharing” experiences. You don’t need prior futures expertise. Come curious, willing to reflect, and open to engage.
