Facilitating Africa’s future in the digital era: People, processes and platforms
17 – 19 August 2026 | Kigali, Rwanda
The International Association of Facilitators (IAF) Africa Region is excited to announce its upcoming conference, which will explore the transformative role of group process facilitation in driving innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship across Africa.
The three-day event will bring together facilitators, academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and students for an engaging program of plenary sessions, breakout discussions, and networking opportunities. Participants will have the chance to:
-
Explore best practices in facilitation for fostering innovation and collaboration
-
Engage with thought leaders shaping Africa’s digital and entrepreneurial landscape
-
Exchange ideas and experiences across sectors and disciplines
-
Connect with the Carnegie Mellon University Africa community and other regional stakeholders
The conference will explore three key sub-themes that frame the dialogue and learning journey: People, Processes, and Platforms
People: Build human capital to navigate the digital era effectively through inclusion across gender, youth, and rural communities.
Processes (Methods, Frameworks and Tools): Enable facilitating various stakeholders towards digital literacy for a sustainable developed economy.
Platforms (Infrastructure & Technology): Enable awareness and use of digital platforms, tools and technology for learning, networking and participatory work in an innovative, smart and agile way.

IAF Oceania | Facilitation in action
It’s all about creating the space for you!
14 – 16 October 2026 | Geelong, Australia
The IAF Oceania Conference is back!
14–16 October 2026. Deakin University Waterfront Campus, Geelong, Australia. Three days built entirely around the practice of facilitation — not adjacent to it, not inspired by it. The whole thing.
This conference only happens once every three years in Oceania. If you’ve been before, you already know what that means. If this is your first time hearing about it — here’s what to expect…
More than 40 hands-on workshops. A choose-your-own-adventure programme structured across three learning journeys — Foundations, Craft, and Transformation. A beach BBQ dinner. A facilitation games night. And a room of around 150 people who understand exactly what you do and why it matters.
This is not a sit-and-listen event. The sessions are designed the way you’d want to design them. You’ll be in it from the first moment.
Registration is open now, and early bird pricing is available until 30 June!
If you’re not ready to register yet, save the dates. And if you know someone who belongs in a room like this — pass it on.
See you there!
