Donations and giving
Support the future of facilitation
When you give to IAF, you help expand access to professional facilitation around the world. Your contribution supports growth, recognition, and legacy within our global community.
IAF Bursary Fund
The IAF Bursary Fund was created to strengthen facilitation around the world, especially in regions where access to professional development and certification may be limited by financial barriers.
Through this fund, IAF provides financial assistance to individuals pursuing the IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator designation and other initiatives that advance the profession globally.
Every gift helps expand access, elevate standards, and grow our shared practice.
Ways to give
Gifts and contributions
Gifts may be made at any time by individuals or organisations who wish to support the profession of facilitation.
Gifts made by will (bequests)
Members who wish to leave a lasting legacy may include IAF in their will.
Types of bequests include:
-
Specific – A fixed sum of money
-
Residual – A percentage of the estate after other provisions
-
Contingent – A gift made if other beneficiaries predecease
We recommend seeking independent legal and estate advice when considering this option.
Gifts of recognition
Honour a colleague, mentor, or leader through a donation made in their name.
Individuals, companies, Regions, and Chapters may choose to recognise lifetime service, special achievements, or significant contributions to the profession. IAF will acknowledge the donor and recognise the individual on the IAF website.
Charitable life insurance
Naming IAF as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy can:
-
Make a meaningful future gift more affordable
-
Provide potential tax benefits (depending on jurisdiction)
-
Ensure proceeds are not reduced by estate administration fees
Policies may be donated during your lifetime or designated through estate planning.
In memorial gifts
Memorial gifts may be made in memory of an individual whose life and work made a lasting impact on facilitation.
Friends, family members, Chapters, and Regions may contribute in their honor. Upon request, IAF can establish a permanent memorial page celebrating their legacy. There is no obligation to make a donation in order to create a memorial page.
All memorial gifts support the IAF Bursary Fund.
Charitable remainder trust
A charitable remainder trust allows a donor to contribute an asset to IAF while retaining the investment income during their lifetime, creating a secure future gift to support the profession.
Because charitable giving laws vary by country and region, IAF strongly encourages prospective donors to obtain independent legal and tax advice before proceeding with planned gifts.
