Facilitating the Art of Unlearning: Making Space for What’s Next

This article is something I wrote to capture what I’ve been seeing again and again in my work. Sometimes the most important thing I can do as a facilitator is help a group let go.

In the piece, I talk about what unlearning looks like in real rooms, and I offer three tools that have helped me support it: Timeline of Belief, Rituals of Release, and Naming the Invisible. Each one is rooted in stories from actual sessions, with a focus on what people need to move forward when the old ways stop working.

I wrote this as the first edition of my newsletter, Systems in Motion, to reflect what I believe is becoming core to facilitation work. Not just helping people speak or decide, but helping them make space for what comes next.
