Become a CPF

At the International Association of Facilitators (IAF), we believe that facilitation is more than a skill. It is a professional practice grounded in trust, collaboration, ethics, and the ability to guide groups toward meaningful outcomes.

Today, we are proud to celebrate and congratulate our recently certified and recertified facilitators who have reached important milestones in their professional journey through the IAF Professional Development Pathway. Their dedication reflects a deep commitment to excellence in facilitation and to the ongoing development of our profession worldwide.

Congratulations
  • Lilian Wang, for re-certifying as a Certified™ Professional Facilitator Master
  • Neil Oliver, for re-certifying as a Certified™ Professional Facilitator
Why the IAF credentials matter

The IAF Professional Development Pathway recognises facilitators who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and values outlined in the IAF Core Competencies. From the Endorsed™ Facilitator (EF) to the Certified™ Professional Facilitator (CPF), these credentials represent a commitment to reflective practice, ethical facilitation, and continuous growth.

The IAF Endorsed™ Facilitator (EF) credential is often the first formal step in a facilitator’s professional recognition journey. It highlights facilitators who are actively building their practice and intentionally applying facilitation competencies in real-world settings.

The Certified™ Professional Facilitator (CPF) credential is internationally recognised as the premier professional certification for facilitators. Achieving CPF status requires facilitators to demonstrate their competence through written submissions, peer review, interviews, and live facilitation assessments.

Recertification is equally meaningful. It reflects a continued investment in learning, professional standards, and the evolving craft of facilitation. By renewing their credentials, facilitators reaffirm their dedication to creating spaces where participation, collaboration, and collective intelligence can thrive.

A global community of practice

Every new EF, CPF, and recertified facilitator strengthens our global community of practice. These achievements are not only personal milestones; they contribute to advancing facilitation as a recognised profession that supports organisations, communities, and systems in navigating complexity and change.

We celebrate each of you for the care, courage, and professionalism you bring into the spaces you hold.

Congratulations once again to all our newly certified and recertified facilitators. Your work continues to demonstrate the power of facilitation in action.
