The IAF presence in China began with an early conference and gathering in Shenzhen in January 2010, followed by the 2014 Asia Conference in Singapore. Soon after, local facilitator clubs formed in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou.

The IAF Shanghai Chapter was formally founded in 2016. In 2017, it hosted the first Facilitator Fair, and by 2018, more city hubs were joining across the country.

Shanghai also hosted the first Chinese Certified™ Professional Facilitator (CPF) certification.

In 2019, the first IAF China Conference took place in Guangzhou, bringing together more than 400 participants.

Looking Ahead: The 2026 IAF Asia Conference in Hangzhou
