Drawing on insights from Facilitating with Stories: Ethics, Reflective Practice and Philosophies, this interactive session explores how facilitators can create the conditions for respectful, reflective story work while thoughtfully navigating power, meaning-making and the responsibilities that accompany story work.
Together we’ll explore practical ways of working with stories that deepen connection, learning and dialogue. Through discussion, shared reflection and practical examples, we’ll consider the ethical questions that arise whenever stories are invited into a group and reflect on how these ideas can strengthen our own facilitation practice with greater confidence, purpose and integrity.

Andrew Rixon is a leadership researcher, coach and educator who has authored and co-edited five books on storytelling, including the forthcoming Narrative Leadership Development: Storytelling for Navigating Challenging Times.
Cathryn Lloyd is the Founder and Director of Maverick Minds, an experienced facilitator, coach and creativity specialist who works with leaders, teams and organisations to create positive change through meaningful conversations and creative practice. She is co-editor of Facilitating with Stories: Ethics, Reflective Practice and Philosophies, co-author of The Story Cookbook and Facilitating with Stories, and author of Seriously Playful Creativity. Her work explores how stories, images and creative approaches can deepen learning, reflection and collaboration. She holds a Doctorate in Creative Industries.
