In this session, we’ll explore how futures and foresight approaches can be applied at an individual level, to support reflection on identity, work, and direction in times of change. Rather than focusing on prediction or goal-setting, participants will use simple futures prompts to explore multiple possible futures for themselves, noticing assumptions, tensions, and choices.

Through guided individual reflection and optional sharing, we’ll examine how personal assumptions about the future shape present decisions, the value of exploring multiple futures rather than a single “plan”, and what facilitators need to be mindful of when working with personal futures in group settings. We’ll close by reflecting on how these approaches can be used responsibly with clients, teams, or communities, without crossing into coaching or therapy.

Useful for: This session will be useful for facilitators who want to better understand the human dimension of futures work, and how foresight can support clarity and agency at an individual level.

Important: we often use breakout rooms, whiteboards, and plenary discussions. Please be prepared to turn on your camera, use your mic, and participate.
