This session explores personal leadership as a foundation for facilitator identity and effectiveness. In a rapidly changing and interconnected world, facilitators are called to lead from within—cultivating awareness, presence, and intentionality in how they engage with others.
Participants will be introduced to six personal leadership practices: attending to judgment, attending to emotion, attending to physical sensation, cultivating stillness, engaging ambiguity, and aligning with vision. Through guided reflection and interactive dialogue, participants will examine how these practices influence their role as facilitators and their ability to navigate complexity, difference, and uncertainty.
The session emphasizes leading from the inside out, supporting participants in strengthening self-awareness, clarifying values, and aligning their facilitation approach with purpose. Participants will leave with practical insights and strategies to enhance their effectiveness, deepen their facilitator identity, and apply personal leadership practices in both personal and professional contexts.
Facilitator: Dr. Tessa Sutton
