Join us for session 8 of Small-f Facilitation: Group Decision-Making
Should we keep discussing this topic or put it in the parking lot? Which ideas deserve further attention? Is the group ready to move forward with a recommendation?
Facilitators are often called on to help groups make decisions in the moment. In this session, Diane Kilcoyne and Louise Robson, will explore practical techniques for moving groups from discussion to decision, from quick temperature checks to consensus-building approaches.
Who is it for?
People who facilitate (or would like to) as part of their everyday work, whether or not “facilitator” appears in their job title.
What to expect?
- A 90-minute free online session.
- A short presentation + breakout conversations (4-6 people) to discuss and compare approaches and a gallery walk to hear insights from each breakout.
- It’s more conversation than lecture, so come ready to share your experiences, ideas, and questions in a friendly, informal format.
- Connect with fellow Small-f Facilitators, build your facilitation toolkit, and leave with new ideas for helping groups move from discussion to decision.
Technology Prep: We will be using Zoom for video/audio and Mural (a virtual whiteboard) for this session. If you aren’t familiar with Mural, please watch two minutes of this video (from 13:30 to 15:20) for basics that you’ll need for the session.
